WAUSAU - A local company took home a top state honor, The Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year.

Linetec does aluminum finishing with painting services and a process called anodizing, which makes metal resistant to weathering and gives it a matte finish. The finished metal products are then largely used in doors and windows.

The company has added many new jobs over the last several years, which is a large part of why the company was chosen for the top honor, the release said.

"This company is the largest in its industry with more than $100 million in sales thanks to the work of nearly 600 employees," the release said. "The organization has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years, expanding its workforce by more than half during that period alone."

Nicolet Plastics LLC in Mountain, Automation Components Incorporated in Middleton and Oshkosh Corporation in Oshkosh were among other recipients to take home top honors in other categories, according to the release.
